This sweet baby girl and her family were a joy to work with. She was already a little older than my usual newborns when we set up the session but that doesn’t scare me 🙂 I followed her lead on how she wanted to be posed and it was clear she would prefer being swaddled and was snug as a bug. The session ran smoothly and she was perfectly behaved the whole time…except for a little crying at the end which was her way of saying, “hey lady I’m done being photographed now” lol. Check out that beautiful nursery and crib…which Daddy made just for her!

Awaiting the arrival of your little one is such an exciting time! I met this family 4 years ago to photograph their newborn son and I was super excited when Mom contacted me to say they were expecting #2. We met at the beautiful McCrillis Gardens in Bethesda for our maternity photo session. This Mama killed it with her outfits (one of which matched perfectly with the blossoms!). I love these images and how much love and excitement you can feel while they wait for their little girl to arrive. Stay tuned for the newborn session coming soon 🙂

Another one of my newborns turns 1! When you have kiddos you realize just how fast time flies. It seemed like just yesterday I photographed this sweet girl as a newborn. I was honored to capture her first birthday session with her sweet family. Birthday girl was not a huge fan of cake but she was quite happy to pick flowers and dance with Mommy.

Newborn sessions are some of my favorite sessions to photograph. I love to capture the joy and excitement of those newborn days with families. I met this family last fall for a mini session and I was thrilled when they contacted me to photograph their newest addition. I love for my newborn sessions to be low stress and relaxing. For your session I will travel to your home and bring all of my newborn props with me. This little guy was not very sleepy and wasn’t enjoying being posed. This can sometimes happen at a newborn session and it’s totally fine! Some babies prefer to be wrapped up snug and warm…like this little guy. I never want to force a baby into a pose if it’s upsetting them. Your baby is beautiful. They are perfect just the way they are. First birthday/cake smash sessions are really some of my favorites. I met this family about 5 years ago when Mom and Dad were expecting big brother and we have done a session a year every since! I was so thrilled for them when I heard they were expecting these 2 adorable little ladies! We had a great time smashing cakes until someone got a little bit tired but it didn’t slow down her sister 🙂 I can’t believe they are 1…phew time just zooms by.
