Newborn Photography Session: The C Family

This little red haired beauty came to my home studio in Rockville for her session.  She was such a little doll, so sleepy (after a full tummy) and once she was asleep she was OUT.   Her mommy brought the cutest outfits for her, love the wonder woman outfit 🙂

An afternoon at the Lock

I took my kids out to check out a new location for sessions yesterday afternoon.  Such a beautiful place!   A river to throw rocks in and hundreds of dandelion puffs to blow away…couldn’t ask for a more fun afternoon.  Noah had been wearing this “Brave” dress all afternoon and he chose to keep it on for the trip.  This dress is the one he will always pick for some reason lol.  He has a big sister so dress up is very normal to him and I love it!  So glad I took my camera I haven’t had a picture of them together in too long and even though it wasn’t a perfect outfit portrait session I’m so glad I captured this afternoon 🙂

Child Portrait Session: Abby is 6!

I can’t believe that my little girl is 6, how did that happen???  I also can’t believe that there is only one more month left of kindergarten…did we just enter warp speed or something?  A few things about Abby at 6:  she loves Frozen (duh), she loves to draw, she is really into Tim Burton movies and Monster High,  she loves to antagonize her little brother, and  she just started playing on her first soccer team.  I admire her spunk and personality, she definetly marches to her own drummer.  I took her to get some new shoes a couple of months ago and she picked out pink Doc Martens, I think those shoes really sum up her personality…girlie with a twist 🙂

Newborn Photography session: Baby M

For this session I traveled north to the client’s home to photograph this little cutie.  She sure gave me a run for my money and didn’t want to sleep a wink unless she was being held by her Mama.  So we called it a day and I came back a few days later to try again.  Sometimes you just have to give them a few days to get used to being out here in the big bad world 🙂  On the second try we had some success and managed to capture her in all her girly adorableness!  After a lot of waiting and chit chat  she gave me about 25 minutes total of sleeping but the waiting was worth it.   I was so excited I finally got to use my bunny hat and carrot!!!

newborn photography session: the w family

I photographed this little guy and his family in their home.  Photographing kids in their home and with their stuff is so different to photographing in studio and I think so much less stressful for Mom and Dad.  The kids were so adorable with their new baby brother, big sister holds that baby like a pro!  After some family shots I found a window with some great light and did a little session with the star of the show.
