Another beautiful baby boy in my studio in Rockville. I had such a great time photographing this brand new family of 3. Can’t wait to see how big he is at his 6 month mini session 🙂
Lifestyle photography. Ask 10 photographers to define it and I think they would all give you a different answer. My approach is to photograph in the client’s home, where the kids and everyone feel the most relaxed. Get the kids to give me a tour of their rooms and just hang out with them and capture them doing what they do best, which is of course being adorable. This session was the 6th time I have photographed this family and I think this was the easiest session we have had. I think the kids could sense we didn’t expect them to sit still and pose lol. I loved that Nana came over to read to the girls, like she always does, and played in their rooms with them. I wish I had photos like that of my Grandma and I! Grandpa came over also and they played a fun game of Kerplunk. I just sat back and clicked away. I think if you have little ones, especially toddlers, that this type of session can be a fun alternative to a traditional session.
Another adorable newborn came to visit me in my studio in Rockville. How lucky am I that I get to snuggle babies? I don’t even mind that more often than not I get peed or pooped on 🙂 One thing I really like about newborn sessions is chatting with the parents while soothing or feeding the baby. This is such a special (sometimes overwhelming) time in life and I feel blessed I get to share a little tid bit of that time with the families that I photograph.
I have been so blessed to have so many newborn sessions so far this year! I loooove to snuggle those babies and this little guy was no exception. I really love it when my clients bring personal touches to my sessions, especially newborns. Posing him next to Daddy’s cap really shows how tiny and precious he is! I know only too well how fast babies grow up (my oldest just turned 6-eek!), what a great reminder for his Mommy and Daddy to look back on <3
So excited about this week’s challenge over at I Heart Faces because I heart black and white! Took my little girl out for some birthday photos and got this shot of her reading her favorite Olivia book 🙂
